The first Drive Trip,
Central and Northern Arizona, a 327-mile journey from Phoenix to Prescott to Flagstaff, is, says
AAA Road Reporter Mike Robb. "one of our most popular Drive Trips."
"From Phoenix, cruising north on I-17 to Flagstaff, you'll notice the signs stating elevation 2,000 feet, 4,000 feet and so on. The air temperatures will drop dramatically as well. The Flagstaff area is a bit of a topographical ‘island’ as it sits at a much higher elevation than Phoenix and the surrounding desert and is carpeted with thick luscious southern pines. T

he morning aroma of the air is quite pristine & seems to get the entire day off to a great start. Flagstaff & Sedona have a lot to see. Sedona is definitely worth a day or two in itself, or combined with nearby Cottonwood, Jerome, and Camp Verde. If you want to venture over to Payson and Show Low, there is a lot of pretty country countryside to see in that area as well. It is best to take this trip when it is NOT 120 degrees in the lower elevations! Flagstaff can experience some wintery weather during the winter months as it sits at nearly 7,000 feet."
The second featured Drive Trip, an shorter 174-mile tour of southeastern Pennsylvania, incorporates the attraction appeal of Hershey Park with Revolutionary War battlefields and numerous smaller atttractions. "This one is very family-friendly, with a blend of fun and education and is especially beautiful in the fall," says the Road Reporter.
