Looking For 'America's Worst Driver'

Submitted by Laurie Peterson, March 12, 2010
Lombard Street, San Francisco

San Francisco will be the setting for the first episode of ‘America’s Worst Driver’, premiering this Sunday, March 14, at 10 p.m. ET on the Travel Channel.

AAA is collaborating with Travel Channel as the official safety partner on the network’s new reality travel competition. In the series, bad drivers from eight major American cities, nominated by friends and family, compete in various driving challenges to identify the worst local driver. Each challenge tests a driver’s ability to focus while dealing with distraction and stress. The participant earning the distinction of the worst driver from each city will watch as their car is destroyed before moving onto the finale when ‘America’s Worst Driver’ will be named.... Read More

L.A. Dodger Stadium Tour: Bleeding Blue

Submitted by Eli Ellison, March 11, 2010
Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California

Game 4 of the 2009 National League Championship Series: Dodger vs. Phillies. In dramatic fashion, Philly comes from behind and wins in the bottom of the 9th, essentially pounding the final nail in LA’s coffin and booting my beloved Dodgers out of the playoffs. Somebody pass me the cyanide.

Baseball can be cruel, but the offseason heals all wounds.... Read More

Stone Mountain Climbing

View from the top of Stone Mountain

Whether you live in the Atlanta area or you’re just visiting, a trek to Stone Mountain is one of the things you wind up doing. It’s not a Georgia law or anything; you just do it. I allotted most of a day to explore Stone Mountain Park, although with all the activities this place offers you could easily spend a week. But I already knew what I was going to do: hike to the top of the mountain.... Read More

Kansas City's Jazz Museum

Submitted by Patricia Miller, March 9, 2010
Kansas City's historic district

My list of must-see museums in Kansas City during my visit in July included the American Jazz Museum. It’s located in the 18th and Vine historic district, an area of Kansas City noted for its contributions to jazz. The museum is small but its colorful exhibits hold many treasures from the days when jazz was king in KC.

I’m a fan of many genres of music, ... Read More

In Chicago, It’s Got To Be Lou’s

Submitted by Sharon Kudlowitz, March 5, 2010
Chicago deep-dish pizza

I’m not a pizza fanatic and generally order pasta or a salad when dining at a pizzeria with family or friends. Maybe it’s a result of too many mediocre pizzas in my youth; let’s face it, Domino’s, Pizza Hut and Little Caesars aren’t exactly gourmet establishments. Or maybe it’s because I grew up in Memphis where barbecue reigns supreme—who knows?... Read More

The Zocalo, Mexico City’s main plaza since pre-Columbian time, is the epicenter of this party, which will culminate on September 16, 2010.... Read More

Mount Rushmore at night

I’ll never forget the first time I went to the Black Hills of South Dakota  and saw Mount Rushmore. I was on a quest to visit all 50 states and I had three left- South Dakota, North Dakota and Hawaii.

I’ve heard a saying that you go to some famous places three times in your life: As a child, with your children and on a senior bus trip.... Read More
