  • Image Susan Long Susan has fond memories of traveling with her dogs — like the time she sat in the back seat with her two new puppies heading back to New York from Miami after Christmas vacation (the dogs were an unexpected gift, and gave her many more unexpected “gifts” along the journey).  Or the time she took her dogs camping and it was so cold that they both climbed into her sleeping bag to keep warm (also, being ‘city’ dogs, they were terrified by wild animal noises). Susan’s current dog Hope is a yellow-lab mix always ready to travel to pet-friendly places at a moment’s notice. Although Susan’s dogs have never achieved heroic status in the public eye — no daring rescues from a burning building — they’re always glad to see her at the end of the day. Susan is manager of National Promotions and Communications for AAA and is working, not nearly enough, on her first novel.
